Nedap Livestock Management announces that Tara Bohnert has joined its North American dairy team as a business development manager. In her role, Bohnert will collaborate with Nedap business partners and customers to strengthen business relationships and increase their success. She’ll identify opportunities for Nedap solutions – including health monitoring, heat detection, cow locating, milk yield recording and automated sorting and routing – to promote more efficient dairy herd management and increased profitability.

“Tara’s personal and professional experience in the dairy industry will uniquely position her to help us identify new opportunities for business partners and dairies to succeed together,” says Bertino Verstege, managing director, Nedap Livestock Management. “As we work toward our goal to help dairies across North America achieve efficiency and profitability, Tara will be a great asset.”

Bohnert has spent years helping dairy farmers identify opportunities to maximize profitability. In her previous role at Alta Genetics, she engaged industry stakeholders and farmers to build a global Jersey program from the ground up. Bohnert also led the acquisition and sales of elite genetic lines.

“I’ve experienced the impact of precision agriculture on the farming sector first-hand,” says Bohnert. “I’m excited to bring precision technology and individual cow care to North American dairy herds.”

Bohnert was raised on a farm and purchased her first cow as part of a 4-H project in the 1980s. That project expanded into what is now a 500-head registered Jersey herd in central Illinois. Bohnert’s leadership extends beyond work. She holds a director position on the county Farm Bureau board and is an alumni member of the Illinois Ag Leadership Program.
